1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using SBAR Shift Prep (the “Tool”), you agree to these Terms of Use and Disclaimers. If you do not agree, please do not use the Tool. SBAR Shift Prep is owned and operated by Nursing Beyond Theory (NBT), a product of Her Black Wellness, Inc. (HBW).

2. Educational practice only

SBAR Shift Prep is a practice and educational communication-prep tool only. It is not medical advice, a substitute for clinical training, supervision, or licensure, or a replacement for facility policies, provider orders, or your independent clinical judgment. The scenarios, prompts, and generated drafts are designed to help you organize your thoughts before speaking with a provider, charge nurse, or other care-team member.

Always verify facts in the medical record, follow your employer’s policies and escalation procedures, and use your own clinical judgment before communicating with the care team or making patient-care decisions.

3. No patient-identifiable information

Do not enter patient names, medical record numbers, dates of birth, room numbers, or any other protected health information (PHI) into the Tool. Inputs are processed for the purpose of generating your personal prep draft and are not intended to create or store a medical record.

4. No provider-patient relationship

Use of SBAR Shift Prep does not create a provider-patient, employer-employee, or preceptor-student relationship between you and HBW, NBT, or any of their contractors or affiliates. The Tool does not diagnose conditions, recommend treatment, write orders, or replace supervision by your clinical instructor, preceptor, charge nurse, or employer.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Her Black Wellness, Inc. (HBW) and Nursing Beyond Theory (NBT), and their owners, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, and licensors (collectively, the “NBT Parties”), are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages, including but not limited to loss of income, licensure, employment, reputation, data, or patient outcomes, arising out of or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the Tool.

You assume full responsibility for any decisions, actions, or communications you make after using the Tool. If you are unsure about a clinical situation, escalate to your charge nurse, preceptor, clinical instructor, or provider in accordance with your facility’s policies.

6. Payments and access

The SBAR Shift Prep Bundle Beta Access is a one-time purchase that grants access to the full simulator, additional scenarios, and the downloadable PDF guide. Payment processing is handled by Stripe. Prices are listed in U.S. dollars. All sales are final unless required otherwise by applicable law.

7. Intellectual property

All content, branding, designs, and materials within SBAR Shift Prep are owned by or licensed to Her Black Wellness, Inc. and Nursing Beyond Theory. You may not reproduce, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the Tool or its materials without prior written permission.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Tool after changes means you accept the updated terms.
